Escape the Cave Ending Guide
How the ending unlocks in Escape the Cave: reach the end of the tunnel, clear the last rocks, fit through the gap, and see what the portal leads to.
Quick answer: In WorldLab Studios' [CLANS] Escape the Cave, the ending unlocks when you reach the end of the tunnel. That is the literal trigger — the last step of the developer's own How to play list — and nothing else gates it: there is no dialogue choice, NPC turn-in or item hand-in attached to it. In practice, you drill toward the light at the last rock wall, clear the final rock piles until a crawl gap opens, empty your haul so you fit through, and squeeze past. A portal just beyond the gap carries you out, and the run is complete.
What officially unlocks the ending
The official Roblox listing states the win condition in one line, placed at the very end of its How to play steps: "🚪 Reach the end of the tunnel to unlock the ENDING!" It comes after the mine-and-sell and gear-upgrade steps, which is also the intended shape of a run: mine the rock wall, sell your haul at the cart, upgrade your pickaxe, drill, dynamite and car, then push for the tunnel's end.
The trigger is purely positional. The listing never ties the ending to talking to anyone, delivering anything or entering a code — the other people stuck down here and the upgrades are part of the run, not the ending check. The description does hint that the exit is not the end of the game: "...and discover the cave isn't done with you yet."

The final approach, step by step
A full playthrough of the correct game shows what "reach the end of the tunnel" actually involves:
- Keep drilling toward the exit and manage the overheat. The drill overheats if you run it nonstop. The playthrough players picked up the drill's cooling upgrade so they could keep drilling without stopping, and one player's advice was to have your drill maxed by this stage.
- Look for light at the last rock wall. Light shining through the final barrier is how you know the open path is there — "May liwanag kasi diyan" ("there's light there"), and then "there's the path" once it opens up.
- Clear the rock piles so a crawl gap exists. One drilled hole is not enough. The players drilled a spot, found no way through, and concluded that all the rock piles at the barrier had to be removed so they could crawl over them ("Gagapang tayo" — we'll crawl).
- Unload your haul before the narrow opening. A full bag stops you from fitting. The players had to go on a "diet" — slim down — before one of them could fit, and their haul drained away as it was unloaded. The game's stated way to empty your bag is selling your haul at the cart, so don't arrive at the last gap loaded up.
- Fit through the gap. Passing the end-of-tunnel opening is the trigger itself — the players called the game finished the moment one of them got through.
One gear note: that run arrived with a near-maxed car and a drill upgraded with cooling, and no tested minimum pickaxe or drill tier for the final rock piles is documented either way.
If the tunnel's end is still out of reach because the route itself is blocked, the Escape the Cave walkthrough covers the full mine route, and the exit location guide helps you pin down where you're digging toward.
After you squeeze through (spoilers)
Spoiler warning: the ending moment, its rewards and the post-game content follow.
The run is recognized as finished the second you pass the gap — the playthrough players announce it right away: "Tapos na. Yes." ("It's done. Yes.") and "Escape." A portal sits just past the opening and pulls you in ("Higop ako ng portal" — the portal sucked me in). Functionally, it carries you out of the run and back to the lobby.
In that shown run, the players closed out at 14 minutes with 120 gems and a special coin bonus of +240. Those figures come from that single session with rough auto-captions, so treat them as a realistic example of a completed run rather than a confirmed fixed payout. What the source shows after the portal is that readout and the trip back to the lobby — no separate cutscene or ending screen appears in it.
The lobby is where "the cave isn't done with you yet" pays off, and its pieces have distinct jobs:
- Pets are the persistent layer. The pet shop sells pets (a dragon among them) plus pet accessories and dress-up items. Pets carry over into your next run and grant automatic bag size, cash and gem-gathering bonuses.
- Miner classes are what you play as. The lobby has rolls for classes from Rookie and Heavyweight up to The Mine King and Deep Driller, with further upgrades available alongside them.
One ending, one trigger. Between the official listing and the verified playthrough, only this ending is shown: reach the end of the tunnel. No second or secret ending appears in any source, and the listing describes the same trigger regardless of mode — it advertises Easy and Hard mode and solo or up-to-three-friend co-op, but says nothing about the ending changing between them. If you're weighing the mode for your first clear, see Easy and Hard mode and co-op.
