Escape the Cave Equipment Shop

Where to find the equipment shop in Escape the Cave, with verified prices for the $20 drill, $4 pickaxe, bag upgrades and the 40-diamond cart.

Escape the Cave's gear shop is not a building you visit before playing — equipment is bought inside the cave itself. Small vendor stalls stand along the tunnel you dig through, a stand at the side of the digging area sells the cart and car, and capacity plus drill enhancements are bought from the Tab menu. You walk up, pay with on-hand cash or diamonds, and the purchase applies on the spot. Verified displayed prices include the $20 permanent drill, a $2 two-minute drill rental, a $4 timed pickaxe, bag upgrades at $5–$10 observed tiers, the infinite bag for 7 cash and the cart for 40 diamonds.

Where to find the equipment shop

The shop is the cave itself. The game's own description lists buying gear — "Buy and upgrade your pickaxe, drill, dynamite and car to dig faster" — as a core action, and recorded sessions show exactly where it happens: at stalls along the digging route. Mid-dig, one player asks who is selling explosives and drill machines down here, and works out that the shopkeepers "यहां पे फंसे नहीं थे" — they were never trapped; they simply opened shops inside the cave. The cart and car stand sits at the side of the digging area: the pair plans to buy the cart "dito sa gilid" (here at the side), right next to the car.

Finding and using a stall takes no unlock, quest or separate shop area:

  1. Dig into the tunnel from spawn. Purchase points appear along the digging route and are found by sight — one pair spots the bag stand ("Saan yon? Ayan pala eh" — where is that, there it is) and buys on the spot.
  2. Walk up and interact. The stall shows its price before you confirm, and payment comes straight out of your cash or diamonds — the $2 drill rental and the 40-diamond cart both complete this way during normal digging.
  3. Press Tab for capacity and enhancements. Bag/storage capacity, a Hold option and the drill's Cooling, Grasp and Run Time are bought from the upgrade menu ("टैब में जाके अपना एनहांस कर सकते हैं" — go to the Tab to enhance) rather than at a stall.

Two currencies matter. Cash ($) comes from mining and selling your haul — see Escape the Cave cash — and diamonds come from the gems you pick up in the rock (see Escape the Cave gems); the recorded pair pays for the cart with diamonds "na-collect natin kanina" — collected earlier in the run.

Two blocky miners sit with lit lanterns among collapsed rocks under the word STUCK, from Escape the Cave
Escape the Cave strands you inside the cave — the vendor stalls and Tab menu you meet while digging out are where every purchase happens.

Equipment shop stock and verified prices

Everything below was read off the screen in recorded sessions, with costs as displayed at purchase time. Prices that never appeared on screen are marked as such rather than guessed:

ItemDisplayed costCurrencyRestrictions and notes
Drill (permanent)$20Cash ($)Shown before purchase ("यह जो ड्रिल है $20 का"); the recorded purchase completed and the drill unlocked on the spot
Drill (timed rental)$2Cash ($)Lasts about two minutes ("यह दो ही मिनट लास्ट करता है"); a Robux-priced timed version ("Two robox only") also appeared in another session
Pickaxe (timed)$4Cash ($)Same two-minute expiry; described as overpowered while it lasts
Bag/storage upgrades$5, $9 and $10 observedCash ($)A $10 purchase raised capacity to 160 in one run; observed ladders differed between runs (see below)
Infinite bag7CashLets you carry unlimited rocks ("Seven. Seven lang."); bought on the spot
Cart40 diamondsDiamondsOnly one can be owned ("Isa lang pwede? Oo isa lang"); can be upgraded afterwards
CarNot shown—Stocked at the same side stand as the cart; speed upgrades available
DynamiteNot shownCash ($)Bought and detonated in both recorded sessions ("Paano ako makakabili? Ayan. cash.")
Drill enhancements (Cooling / Grasp / Run Time)Only Grasp legible, at $.5Cash ($)Bought through the upgrade UI in both runs; Run Time is described in-game as "longer before cooling down"

That table is the verified stock, not a complete catalog. No price was visible for the car or dynamite, and of the drill enhancements only Grasp showed a legible figure, so read the label at each stall when you buy. One session also shows an extra purchase made for 40 gems that the recording never names — so gem-priced goods are not limited to the cart.

Buying versus upgrading

The shop splits into two kinds of spending, and it helps to know which is which before you queue up a purchase:

  • Buying acquires a tool or vehicle at a stall: the drill ($20 permanent or $2 rental), the $4 timed pickaxe, dynamite for cash ("$ में डायनामाइट्स भी आता है" — dynamite also comes for cash), and the cart for 40 diamonds.
  • Upgrading improves something you already own: bag/storage capacity, Hold and the drill's Cooling, Grasp and Run Time come from the Tab menu, the car's speed is upgraded at the car stand ("mag-a-upgrade ako ng speed ng car"), and the cart — though only one can be owned — can be upgraded after purchase ("pwede siya upgrade").

Tool lines come in two versions: an expiring rental and a permanent one. Rentals last about two minutes, and one player races to earn as much as possible in the final seconds ("आखिरी के 10 सेकंड में जितना पैसा बना सकूं") before the tool goes. When a rental runs out, the permanent version is still there to buy: one pair purchases the option marked "Permanent 'to" and it unlocks on the spot, while another player saves to $20 and buys the permanent drill outright ("फाइनली गाइस मैंने ड्रिल अनलॉक कर ली" — finally unlocked the drill). Every purchase and upgrade applies immediately — capacity visibly jumps the moment a bag upgrade is paid for.

Do shop prices stay the same?

Treat the table as accurate for the sessions it was recorded from, not as a permanent guarantee. Both recordings are single, undated sessions — one played on Easy mode with two players — so stock and prices can differ after game updates, and the label displayed at the stall when you buy is the one that counts.

Upgrade tiers even varied between the two runs: one climbed 70 → 110 → 160 capacity, while the other went 30 → 45 → 65 → 90 up to a 120 max. Rather than one fixed price ladder, tiers appear to scale with progression — so expect your own Tab menu and stall labels to show their own numbers.

Before you spend

This page is a purchase lookup: where the shop is, what it stocks and what displayed costs to expect. Which purchase deserves your first cash is a value question — compare purchases in the Escape the Cave gear upgrades guide.
